Manchester-based singer-songwriter T.R. Burge has returned with a fantastic new EP, Selling You. ‘Free Man’ is the opener, designed to set the tone of the indie-folk collection. It opens with gentle, bright acoustic guitar chords, soon joined by his distinctive, gravelly voice. He is joined by the raw, real sounds of distant percussion, electric guitar, bass and piano for the chorus, which is layered with effortlessly memorable hooks. On the background of the EP, he explains: “The EP was based on the idea of having no pressure at all but getting together at the producer Robbie Moore’s new Idea Farm/Studio he is building in rural Sweden and seeing what came out.
